Ukulele Workshop with Jim D’Ville Comes to Chelsea Party Loft – A Rare Musical Opportunity for Washtenaw County
CHELSEA, MI — Music lovers and aspiring ukulele players are in for a treat! On Saturday, August 23, Chelsea Party Loft will host a special workshop led by nationally renowned ukulele educator and Ukulele Magazine contributing editor, Jim D’Ville. The workshop, titled “How Songs Work,” promises a fun, interactive experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
Rather than relying on books or sheet music, D’Ville teaches students how to play songs by ear, helping participants build confidence, understand song structure, and get more joy out of playing. This engaging 2-hour session is perfect for anyone looking to expand their musical abilities—whether you’re jamming at a festival, strumming around the campfire, or just playing for yourself.
This marks Jim’s first workshop in Washtenaw County in over a decade, making it a rare and exciting opportunity for local musicians. The event is open to the public (all ages and all skill levels), and attendees are encouraged to bring their ukuleles and their curiosity.
