NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

AMENDMENT TO THE MASTER PLAN

Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006 (the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act), as amended, notice is hereby given that the City of Dexter Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Monday, July 7, 2025 at 7:00 pm. The public hearing will be held in City Council Chambers, located at 3515 Broad St, Dexter, MI, 48130.

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the following amendments to the City of Dexter Master Plan, in accordance with the Michigan Planning Enabling Act (PA 33 of 2008, as amended) and to recommend approval to the City Council. This hearing follows a 42-day comment period on the Master Plan amendments, as prescribed in PA 33 of 2008, as amended.

Proposed Master Plan Amendments by Chapter

▪ Chapter 1: Introduction (Historic Context, Planning Process, Public Participation)

▪ Chapter 2: Existing Land Use and Community Plans (Existing Land Use Map, Table, and text, City Planning Initiatives, Generalized Future Land Use Map for Surrounding Areas)

▪ Chapter 3: Community Goals and Objectives (Recreation/Green Space Objectives, Residential Objectives, Second Street – Mixed-Use Goal/Objectives)

▪ Chapter 4: Future Land Use (Future Land Use Map, Second Street-Mixed-Use, Master Land Use + Zoning District Classification Comparison Table, Planning for Properties Outside the Current City Limits)

▪ Chapter 5: Mobility (Existing and Planned Rights-of-Way Map, Non-Motorized Pathways Map, Street System Map, PA 51, MDOT)

▪ Chapter 6: Background Studies (Rewritten in its entirety and updated with recent study and demographic information)

▪ Chapter 7: Implementation (Zoning Ordinance Recommendations, Regulations and Ordinances, Project Implementation Table)

▪ Appendix (2024-2025 Master Plan Amendment Public Engagement Reports)

The proposed ordinance amendments are available for public inspection at the City Offices, 3515 Broad Street, Dexter, MI 48130; weekdays between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may also be viewed on the Amendments To 2019 Master Plan webpage.

Public comment may be provided during the meeting, either in-person or virtually, submitted in writing at city offices, located at 3515 Broad Street, Mon-Fri 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or emailed to the Office of Community Development [email protected]. All comments must be received no later than close of business the day of the meeting.
